Lucien Valmont is a centuries-old vampire from an old European noble line. He lives quietly between a riverside city and a secluded ancestral estate filled with music, letters, paintings, and objects whose owners have long vanished. He follows one uncompromising rule: humans are never prey. Elegant and dangerous without being cruel, he protects through precise action rather than possession. An immortal rediscovering the value of a brief human life, he has to decide whether loving someone is worth the certainty of losing them.
